Brother I have set up a small planted tank for betta fish.

For substrate

I have added mix of  red soil, old plant soil, dry leaf pieces, vermicompost, cocopeat.

Above that I have added 2 inch river sand.

And I have 3 to 4 types of plant

For lighting: 5watts led light .the will be on for around 10 to 12 hrs

Filter : hanging filter

And left two days for the water to get set.

After that I have added betta fish.

After a week the plant started to melt

Is this normal ?

Or

Any suggestions to fix this issue.

Thanks for sharing your tank details and pics. Tank looks neat for Beta. It is good you have planned a planted tank for Beta fish. It will love this environment. Light is adequate.

Looks perfect. All the best.
